Project: Control 2D nano-emulsification with DNA origami: membrane-raft engineering in synthetic biology.
    • Designed and polymerized DNA nanostructures in curved strings and circles from novel origami line-actant designs (synthetic analogues of membrane-sculpting proteins) characterized by AFM.
    • Functionalized phase-separated giant unilamellar vesicles (GUVs) with the line-actants.
    • Assessed curvature effect on domain size by image segmentation. Realized the stable control over domain size. Hypothesized coarsening mechanisms and transport in and out of the domains.
